How to Apply 

To apply, submit Temple's online graduate application along with an application fee of $60.

All College of Liberal Arts candidates must have completed their bachelor’s degree in a related field before applying to a graduate program. However, in the past, students without related bachelor’s degree have performed well in the program. Therefore, an applicant’s entire application package will be considered.

Candidates will be asked to submit the following along with their application.

Official electronic transcripts must be sent to
Tara Lemma, graduate coordinator in the College of Liberal Arts.

Additional Requirements for International Applicants

For applicants whose native language is not English, the TOEFL, IELTS or PTE scores are required. Applicants must meet the following minimum test score requirements.

  • TOEFL iBT: 105
  • IELTS Academic: 7.0
  • PTE Academic: 72

Admissions Deadline

Fall: Feb. 15

To be considered for a teaching assistantship or fellowship, admissions materials must be submitted by Dec. 15.
