Information Science and Technology MS
Develop foundational knowledge in information systems and gain technological-specific professional skills through the Master of Science in Information Science and Technology in Temple’s College of Science and Technology. The Information Science and Technology MS is designed to serve students from diverse academic and professional backgrounds, including biology, chemistry, engineering, business, social sciences and the arts with no prior computer science experience required. Students in this graduate program will learn how to apply advanced software systems, database technologies and networks to modeling and simulating real-world data structures and processes.
Through applied, practice-oriented coursework, students in this program will be prepared for professional technology roles across a broad range of industries, such as
- business analyst,
- network administrator,
- database manager,
- UI/UX designer and
- mobile application developer.
The Information Science and Technology program offers both online and in-person course delivery to provide flexibility for working professionals.
Like all programs in the Department of Computer and Information Sciences at Temple, the Information Science and Technology MS emphasizes a combination of theory and practice. Through a blend of computing and leadership skills development, students build strong communication, analysis and problem solving skills. The program has a strong interdisciplinary dimension, and students may take up to three graduate courses related to Information Science and Technology in other departments.
