Computer Science Graduate Certificate

The Computer Science Graduate Certificate is designed for professionals working in the computer sciences industry who wish to expand their technical skills and competencies. The certificate consists of 12 credits and can be pursued on either a part- or full-time basis. Courses take place on-site at Temple University’s Main Campus.

Coursework covers programming and software development techniques, considering data structures such as stacks, strings, tables and trees. Besides a required programming course, you’ll have the chance to tailor the certificate with three electives.

Students who complete this certificate program may continue on to the Computer Science MS afterward. Credits from the Computer Science Graduate Certificate can be counted toward the master's degree, assuming your grades are B's or higher.

Classes & Curriculum

The Computer Science Graduate Certificate includes a required Programming Techniques course as well as three additional advanced courses, for a total of 12 credit hours. Potential electives include

  • Artificial Intelligence,
  • Computer Vision,
  • Design and Analysis of Algorithms, and
  • Security in Cyber-Physical Systems.

Tuition rates are set annually by the university and are affected by multiple factors, including program degree level (undergraduate or graduate), course load (full- or part-time), in-state or out-of-state residency, and more. These tuition costs apply to the 2024–2025 academic year.

Pennsylvania resident: $1,353.00 per credit
Out-of-state: $1,765.00 per credit
