Middle Grades Education Master of Education

The Middle Grades Education Master of Education (MEd) trains students to guide learners  through grades 4–8 and prepares them for the demands of high school. This program offers a unique emphasis on middle grades STEM education, an increasingly high-demand area in Pennsylvania and across the nation. And certification prepares graduates to teach in both the upper elementary and middle grades classrooms.

Students graduate with a solid foundation in learning and teaching and a strong commitment to serving pre-adolescent learners from diverse economic, ethnic and geographic backgrounds. The Middle Grades MEd program focuses on building deep, content-specific pedagogical knowledge aligned to the wide-ranging academic standards and developmental needs of middle grades students.

If you are interested in gaining certification through a full-time, urban-focused STEM teacher residency program, explore the Temple's Teacher Residency program.

Choose to complete the Middle Grades MEd program on a full-time or part-time basis. Classes are scheduled in the evenings to accommodate working professionals.
