Prerequisites

Graduate candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and should have a minimum overall 3.0 GPA.

A minimum of 10 years of professional experience is required, with five to seven years of managerial experience.

Résumé

A current résumé or CV detailing your professional experience, regardless of employment status, is required.

Transcripts

Temple University requires transcripts from each academic institution from which you earned credit for coursework. Copies of transcripts may be used during the admissions process; however, Temple University requires officials of any admitted student.

Additional documentation may be required for non-US academic institutions, such as marksheet and diploma. For such institutions, please review these guidelines from Temple University’s Graduate School.

Letters of Recommendation

One letter of recommendation is required. Professional references from an immediate supervisor, current or past, are preferred. Academic references are acceptable.

Within the application, enter your reference’s contact information. References are then invited to upload their letters of recommendation. We encourage you to submit your application while waiting for recommendations to be completed.

Statement of Goals

One 500-word essay that addresses the following questions. Essays will be evaluated for content, clarity and professionalism.

  • What past experiences prepared or motivated you to pursue this degree?
  • How would you expect to change over the courses of the program?
  • What personal and professional values and skills do you hope to acquire beyond the academic content?
  • How will obtaining this degree help you achieve your career goals?
Essay

A supplemental essay is also required. This essay should describe a leadership decision you have made in your career. What was the outcome of the decision? If you had to make the same decision again today, would you and why/why not? Word count should fall under 250 words.

Standardized Test Scores (optional)

A test score is not required. If you believe a test score would complement or strengthen your application, please request a test score report to be sent to Temple University (GRE: 2906 / GMAT: 72S3T52). Official scores must be reported from a GMAT or GRE test taken within the last five years. Please consult an admissions advisor with any questions.

English Language Exam (as needed)

A test score of academic English, such as the TOEFL, IELTS, PTE Academic or Duolingo test, is required if you have not earned a bachelor's or graduate (master's or doctoral) degree from a U.S. institution. Test scores must be reported by the testing service to Temple University within two years of the test date.

Waiver Eligibility

Note that if you earned your undergraduate or graduate degree from a country in which English is a commonly used language, this requirement may be waived. The admissions department automatically reviews for waiver eligibility at application submission with review of your academic history.
