Professional Science Master's in Bioinnovation
Learn the business and science behind new projects in biomedicine and biotechnology with the Professional Science Master's in Bioinnovation from Temple’s College of Science and Technology and Fox School of Business and Management. Intended for recent graduates and professionals from various academic and workforce backgrounds, the program will prepare you for careers in some of today’s most promising fields, such as biotechnology, pharmaceutical sciences, public health, technology transfer and science information.
Developed with input from an external advisory board of bioinnovation leaders, the program is designed for you to meet the growing demand for cross-trained employees in biology and business. For this degree, you will focus on the identification, commercialization and dissemination of novel biological concepts, models and technologies. In addition, you will gain the management skills to mitigate situations that arise from innovation, such as acquiring funding, creating startups and protecting intellectual property.
A relatively small program with limited class sizes, you will receive individualized attention from faculty in both the College of Science and Technology and Fox School of Business. You will also work closely with your peers on small group exercises and projects to strengthen your communication, problem-solving and team-management abilities. Over the course of your studies, you will learn how to comfortably interact with clinicians and researchers as well as managers in finance, law, marketing and other fields. For more real-world experience, you will have the option to enter a professional internship.
At the end of the program, you will submit a written project and present an oral presentation on the results. The degree may be earned over the course of two years, on a part- or full-time basis.
