How To Apply

Apply using the Common Application. Learn more below about how to apply as a first-year, transfer or international applicant.
Fee: $55 (Fee waivers are available for freshmen who qualify.)

Once your Temple University application is on file, you can view additional audition or portfolio requirements.

Learn more about applying to Temple as a high school student or transfer student. The Admissions team considers the following when reviewing your application.

    Recommendation

    Have one letter of recommendation.

    Standardized Test Scores

    Standardized test scores (SAT or ACT) or the Temple Option.

    Transcripts

    Submit your academic transcripts.

    Written Statement of Goals

    In one to two pages, describe your academic goals and how the Music Technology BS degree will help fulfill these.

    Portfolio

    In lieu of an audition, a portfolio is required. Learn more about undergraduate audition and portfolio requirements.

    Résumé

    A recent version of your professional résumé is required.

    Examination Information

    The Music BS and Music Technology BS degree programs require music theory examinations for admission. For information on these examinations, please contact

    Applicants who do not successfully pass the portfolio review for the BS in Music Technology may be considered for the BS Music program.

    International Students

    You are an international student if you hold or will need to obtain a nonimmigrant visa, including a student (F-1) or an exchange visitor (J-1) visa.

    International students must submit either their TOEFL or IELTS scores. The minimum score of 79 on TOEFL iBT or 6.0 on IELTS is required for admission.
