Admissions

How to Apply

  1. Create an account and start your application by selecting Fox School of Business (FSOB) as your school of choice in the online application portal. You will be asked to upload a statement of goals, a current resume and copies of your academic transcripts and enter recommender details within the application form.  
  2. Submit your application. 
  3. Pay the $60 application fee. 

Once submitted with payment, the admissions team reviews your application. They may request additional materials if required. You will receive an email notification once the application is complete.

Prerequisites

Graduate candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and should have a minimum overall 3.0 GPA.  

Coursework

Successful completion of the following accounting coursework. Prerequisite tax courses should address U.S. tax laws. 

  • Auditing

  • Cost Accounting

  • Federal Taxes on Income

  • Financial Accounting

  • Intermediate Accounting I and II

Financial Accounting, Intermediate Accounting I, and Intermediate Accounting II course equivalents must address U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. 

In addition to transcripts, you may be asked for course descriptions and/or syllabi describing course requirements. 

Résumé

A current résumé or CV detailing your professional experience, regardless of employment status, is required. 

Transcripts

Temple University requires transcripts from each academic institution from which you earned credit for coursework. Copies of transcripts may be used during the admissions process; however, Temple University requires officials of any admitted student.  

Additional documentation may be required for non-US academic institutions, such as marksheet and diploma. For such institutions, please review these guidelines from Temple University’s Graduate School.   

Letters of Recommendation

One letter of recommendation is required. Professional references from an immediate supervisor, current or past, are preferred. Academic references are acceptable.  

Within the application, enter your reference’s contact information. References are then invited to upload their letters of recommendation. We encourage you to submit your application while waiting for recommendations to be completed. 

Statement of Goals

One 500-word essay that addresses the following questions. Essays will be evaluated for content, clarity and professionalism.

  • What past experiences prepared or motivated you to pursue a Master of Accountancy degree?
  • How would you expect to change over the courses of the program?
  • What personal and professional values and skills do you hope to acquire beyond the academic content?
  • How will obtaining the Master of Accountancy degree help you achieve your career goals?
Standardized Test Scoresn (optional)

If you believe a test score would complement or strengthen your application, please request a test score report to be sent to Temple University (GRE: 2906 / GMAT: 72S3T52). Official scores must be reported from a GMAT or GRE test taken within the last five years. Please consult an admissions advisor with any questions. 

English Language Exam (as needed)

A test score of academic English, such as the TOEFL, IELTS, PTE Academic or Duolingo test, is required if you have not earned a bachelor's or graduate (master's or doctoral) degree from a U.S. institution. Test scores must be reported by the testing service to Temple University within two years of the test date. 

Waiver Eligibility  

Note that if you earned your undergraduate or graduate degree from a country in which English is a commonly used language, this requirement may be waived. The admissions department automatically reviews for waiver eligibility at application submission with review of your academic history.

Interview (invite only)

Once an application is considered complete with the necessary documents, candidates will be invited to a virtual interview.  

Admissions Calendar

The Fox School of Business has a rolling admissions process. The Fox Graduate Admissions Committee reviews for decision at application completion (form submission and receipt of required documents). 

The following deadline schedule ensures candidates are considered in a timely manner for scholarship awarding and visa processing.  

Fall Term 

  • Aug. 1: Application opens

  • Dec. 15: Early admissions deadline

  • March 1: Scholarship deadline and international deadline

  • June 30: Final deadline 

Spring Term  

  • June 1: Application opens

  • Aug. 1: Scholarship deadline and international deadline

  • Nov. 1: Final deadline 

Submissions after deadlines can impact scholarship availability and visa feasibility. As such, we encourage applicants to apply early.
