College of Liberal Arts Research

Students in the College of Liberal Arts work collaboratively with each other, faculty and industry experts to tackle some of the world’s most pressing issues and answer some of its biggest questions.
Research Facilities
Students in the College of Liberal Arts have access to the following state-of-the-art research centers and institutes.
- The Center for the Study of Force and Diplomacy (CENFAD), founded in 1993 by Richard Immerman, Russell Weigley and David Rosenberg, fosters interdisciplinary faculty and student research on the historic and contemporary use of force and diplomacy in a global context. CENFAD is housed within Temple University’s History Department.
- The Center for the Humanities at Temple is an interdisciplinary forum for scholarship and intellectual inquiry in the humanities, intended to bridge the disciplinary divide between departments and colleges.
- The Public Policy Lab is home to researchers who study public policies and the social processes relevant to their development and consequences.
- The Center for Sustainable Communities at Temple University conducts integrated social and environmental research on natural, technological and socioeconomic systems to address the challenges of sustainability—how to meet the needs of people locally and globally through equitable, innovative and practical solutions that protect the environment which sustains life on the planet.
- The Temple University Brain Research and Imaging Center is an interdisciplinary research hub dedicated to the study of neurological biology and behavior.
- The University Community Collaborative prepares and supports youth and young adults to become confident, effective leaders, and it creates cultures that value and integrate the contributions of youth with the goal of building stronger communities.
