Gain the skills to stay ahead in a rapidly changing field with the Accounting Technology Certificate Program in Temple University’s Fox School of Business. Designed for those with a background in accounting, this online nine-credit graduate certificate program prepares students to navigate the evolving landscape of digital tools and innovations impacting the accounting field. Students dive into the dramatic impact technology tools currently have and will have on the public accounting industry and within corporate accounting departments.  

Why study accounting technology in the Fox School of Business and Management?

As emerging technologies transform the accounting profession, this certificate program equips students with the tools to strengthen their technical abilities. Students in the Accounting Technology Graduate Certificate explore how technologies like generative AI, robotic process automation (RPA), data visualization and enterprise systems are redefining the future of accounting. This graduate certificate offers students the opportunity to gain practical experience with widely used tools such as Alteryx, UiPath, Power BI and Tableau.  

This certificate program is designed for lifelong learners looking to enhance their accounting careers. The graduate certificate program is also an effective path towards earning Fox’s Master of Accountancy program

Program Format & Curriculum 

The graduate certificate program is delivered online in the evening and can be completed in two consecutive semesters or take one course each semester until completed—making it ideal for working professionals in the field. 

The following three courses are required. 

  • Advanced Data Analytics and Innovation in Accounting 
  • Enterprise Systems and Data Analytics 
  • Generative AI

Tuition & Fees

In keeping with Temple’s commitment to access and affordability, this Certificate Program offers a competitive level of tuition with multiple opportunities for financial support.

Tuition rates are set annually by the university and are affected by multiple factors, including program degree level (undergraduate or graduate), course load (full- or part-time), in-state or out-of-state residency, and more. These tuition costs apply to the 2025–2026 academic year.

Pennsylvania resident: $1,000.00 per credit
Out-of-state: $1,150.00 per credit

Enhance your academic experience by participating in a club related to your major or interests.

The following clubs and organizations are available to Accounting students in the Fox School of Business.

  • Ascend is a student organization that works to develop and foster leadership skills in Asian and Pacific Islander students interested in pursuing a career in accounting and finance.
  • The Ambler Accounting Professional Society is an academic and professional chapter at Temple University’s Ambler campus that aims to give students the opportunity to participate in a variety of professional and community service events, and network with accounting and finance professionals.
  • Beta Alpha Psi is a national scholastic fraternity for financial information students, promoting advancement and development in the fields of accounting, finance and information systems. Members have the opportunity to engage in a supportive network of finance professionals, alumni and recruiters.
  • The Fox Accounting Association introduces finance-focused students to industry experts and some of the top firms in the world. Student members have access to internships and other professional opportunities, including panels, weekly service events and socials.
  • The Institute of Management Accountants is an accounting and finance organization whose goal is to promote various industry/corporate roles to students within the professional field of accounting/finance. They also promote the Certified Management Accountant certification.
  • The National Association of Black Accountants seeks to aid Black students looking to begin careers in accounting, finance and other business-related fields by conducting professional development workshops and hosting speaker/company meetings and networking events.

Global Immersions

Broaden your understanding of global economies and business practices by taking advantage of the various study abroad options and opportunities for learning beyond Temple’s Main Campus in Philadelphia through Global Immersion Programs.

Temple administers several programs around the world, including campus sites in Rome, Japan and Spain, faculty-led summer programs and exchange programs in Europe and Asia. Interested students may also participate in approved programs organized by study abroad organizations or other U.S. universities, or apply directly to an accredited institution overseas. Temple’s Education Abroad office provides information on approved programs, and advisors can work with you to determine which program might provide the best fit.

Temple Exchange Programs

Through reciprocal exchange agreements with the following universities, Temple students can exchange places with students for a semester or academic year. Some programs require sufficient proficiency in the host country language to participate.

  • Taiwan: National Taiwan University
