Internship / Experiential Learning and Sports Media Relations Capstone Courses
Professional, hands-on and experiential learning opportunities are available to all sports media students through two required courses: the Internship/Experiential Learning course and the Sports Media Relations Capstone course, where students gain experience in sports media through placements with professional teams, media companies or local news outlets. Students can also engage in in-house, student-run programs such as OwlSports Update and the Temple Athletics Show, which provide practical opportunities to apply their skills in media production, reporting and public relations.
Internship placements include organizations such as NBC Sports, NFL Films and the Philadelphia Phillies. Media students at Klein have also gained experience with The New York Times, The Basketball Tournament, Ball State Athletics and CBS Sports Radio.
