Path to Professional Certification

The IT Auditing and Cyber Security MS supports career development by including a capstone course that prepares students for one of the following professional certification exams.

  • The Certified Information Systems Auditor demonstrates experience among information systems control, assurance and security professionals.
  • The Certified Information Systems Security Professional demonstrates competency around identifying, analyzing and addressing cyber security risks.


Students have the option of choosing one of two areas of specialization. Each concentration amounts to 30 credits, including four common core courses, two electives and a capstone. Qualified students with the necessary prerequisites may take courses from both concentrations, which are as follows.

  • Cybersecurity

    Learn to identify, analyze and address risks and intrusions to maintain IT integrity and mitigate losses, and fulfill SSCP certification requirement before professional exams. Classes & Curriculum

This master’s program may be completed on a full- or part-time basis, and is offered in-person on Temple University’s Main Campus as well as online. The common core requirements comprise the following four courses.

  • Protection of Information Assets
