Industrial and Systems Engineering Certificate (Graduate)

Enhance your ability to make strategic decisions that increase productivity and efficiency across a broad range of today’s complex industry environments with the Graduate Certificate in Industrial and Systems Engineering at Temple University’s College of Engineering. This online nine-credit graduate certificate program is designed for working professionals who want to advance their technical and managerial skills to keep pace with the evolving field of industrial and systems engineering (ISE). Study how to design, develop and implement solutions to technical problems and how to use technology and the management and integration of staff to improve business production and service operations.

Students in the program will learn to

  • collect, analyze and interpret data;
  • develop mathematical solutions for unstructured problems;
  • make informed engineering decisions; and
  • present information as a professional in the ISE field.

The Industrial and Systems Engineering Certificate program prepares students for success by providing a toolbox of complementary analytical tools that include computer modeling, mathematical simulation, operations research, and quality and production management. This certificate is also a great entry point for students considering a master’s degree.

Classes & Curriculum

Coursework for the Industrial and Systems Engineering Certificate (Graduate) is a combination of theory and practice including examples and case studies taken directly from current industries. Team projects and oral presentations prepare students with the vital communication and collaboration skills they need for this interdisciplinary field of engineering.

The following courses are taken in seven-week semesters and each earn one-and-a-half credits, which allow working professionals flexibility in their personal and professional lives.

  • Advanced Optimization Models in Engineering
  • Data Analytics for Engineers
  • Engineering Decision Analysis
  • Introduction to Linear Optimization
  • Multi-Attribute Engineering Decision Analysis
  • Probability & Statistics for Industrial & Systems Engineering
