Admission Requirements

Fee: $60 for the online application

Process: You’ll submit an application via the SOPHAS centralized application for public health, as well as a supplemental application to Temple.

Program Prerequisites: To apply for the Epidemiology MS, you must have a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.

Application Components

  1. Recommendations: Submit three letters of recommendation from college or university faculty who can speak to your academic abilities. If appropriate for your situation, the letters can also be from research supervisors or mentors.

  2. Course Prerequisites: You should be proficient in statistical programming and have a minimum of six undergraduate quantitative or analytical methods credits (statistics, research design, etc.).

  3. Goals Statement: Write a 500- to 1,000-word essay articulating your interest in the Epidemiology MS program and highlighting your academic and research achievements, career goals, quantitative skills, and research interests and experiences.

  4. GRE score: The GRE is required, and scores above above the 50th percentile on both the verbal and quantitative sections of the test are desired. Scores are valid for five years. The GRE may be waived if you have a terminal degree from an accredited institution.

  5. Current résumé: Submit a résumé or CV that includes your GPA, as well as relevant clinical and research experiences.

  6. Official transcripts: All your undergraduate and graduate transcripts are required; a 3.0 or higher for your undergraduate GPA is preferred.

  7. An interview might be required.
