Week of July 26: Sprint into Summer Fitness Challenge

Let's Sprint into Summer and get moving! Join Campus Recreation all week long as we take on a new fitness challenge leading up to the start of the month of August! We have five exercises we'll be working on this week that you can do in our spaces, at home with family or out with friends. Consult your physician prior to participating and modify the activity to your fitness level (check out our helpful resources below).

Week of July 12: Do it yourself foot relaxation tips and tricks

Many of us spend a larger majority of our time up and on our feet. Check out this week's episode of Topics with Terri as Terri shares with us some tips and tricks to relax your feet while you are on vacation or even at home at the end of a long day. She will share with you how to create your own remedies and share some of her favorite! Click here to view this week's episode and check out the supply list below.

Week of June 28: Pride, representation and getting involved

June 9: Swim safety tips

This week we're inviting everyone into the POOL! It's June and temperatures are rising which means its time for outdoor swimming season. In this episode, Joe Wolgast, aquatics coordinator, wants to share with you some important safety tips to prepare you and your family for the pool and the beach this summer. Click here to view this week's episode.

June 4: Topics with Terri—easy overnight breakfast bowls

This week you will get a double dose of Topics with Terri! In our second episode, Terri will show you how to make another great item to start your day off right. Once again we are giving you some options to prepare for whatever fun you have planned on your summer day. Check out this video for three great and easy overnight breakfast bowls to start your day off right! Click here to view this week's episode.  

INGREDIENTS

  • Oat
  • Plain vanilla yogurt
  • Milk
  • Honey
  • Flax seed (optional)
  • Fruits 
  • Cinnamon

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Combine oats, yogurt and milk into a medium bowl
  • Stir to combine
  • Add other ingredients to the mixture
  • Cover with a top or plastic wrap
  • Refrigerate overnight

June 2: Topics with Terri—chocolate breakfast energy balls

This week you will get a double dose of Topics with Terri! In our first episode, Terri will show you how to make a great items for breakfast that is quick and simple. More importantly, it will pack some energy to carry you through whatever fun you have planned on your summer day. Click here to view this week's episode. Click here to view the recipe.  

INGREDIENTS

  • 2/3 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup of old fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup of ground flax seeds
  • 2 tablespoons of honey

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Combine all five ingredients into a medium bowl
  • Stir to combine
  • Shape into balls
  • Refrigerate for 15–30 minutes

Week of May 17: Mental health and climbing

In this week's episode of summer programming we head to the climbing wall. Claire Meaney, climbing coordinator, talks about her own relationship with climbing and mental health, She'll talk about which aspects of the sport have had the biggest impacts on her. Click here to view this week's episode. 

Week of May 10: Try-a-sport Summer 2021 road trip

To kick off our summer 2021 programming series, the good staff at Try-a-sport Tuesdays has decided they worked hard over the last year and needed a break. They've decided to take a road trip this summer to some of their favorite destinations in and around the city of Philadelphia. In this episode, our associate director of programs, Jay Gallagher, shares some of our picks for outside fun for the summer. We have everything from animals to food to baseball to a sport you've probably never seen before! Click here to view this episode. Below you will find the links to get information on all these great locations.
