How to Apply

To apply, submit the College of Education and Human Development’s online graduate application along with an application fee of $60.

All College of Education and Human Development candidates must have completed (or will complete) their bachelor’s degree in a related field before being admitted to a graduate program. However, in the past, students without a related bachelor’s degree have performed well in the program. Therefore, an applicant’s entire application package will be considered.

Candidates will be asked to submit the following along with their application.

Bachelor’s Degree in Discipline/Related Discipline

A bachelor’s degree is required. A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is expected.

Transcripts

Submit official undergraduate and graduate transcripts from all accredited institutions you have attended and/or from which you earned credit.

Statement of Goals

In approximately 250 words, outline your interest in seeking a graduate certificate with a specific focus on the career to which you aspire, your interests, and your academic and job-related experiences that are relevant to the program.

Résumé/CV

A current professional résumé is required.

Additional Requirements for International Students

International applicants should also submit the following materials.

  • An official document that validates completion and conferral of a degree, diploma and/or certificate. While not required, applicants are encouraged to submit their official documents to a NACES accredited evaluation service such as the World Education Services for evaluation.
  • Official results from a test of academic English such as TOEFL, IELTS, PTE Academic or Duolingo. Temple University’s required minimum scores are as follows:
    • TOEFL iBT: 45 (on or before Jan. 21, 2026) or 79 (before Jan. 21, 2026)
    • IELTS: 6.5
    • PTE Academic: 53
    • Duolingo: 110
