Applicants should have an undergraduate degree in Biology, Computer Programming and other STEM fields. As bioinformatics is highly diverse, students will be evaluated on an individual basis for depth and breadth in areas that prepare them for a computational career using computers and biological data.
Applicants should have taken at least eight undergraduate biology courses and one year of chemistry, physics and calculus.
Unofficial transcripts are considered at the time of applying. Official transcripts are required when accepting the offer at the time of deposit. Official transcripts can be sent to cst.gi@temple.edu.
Submit three letters of recommendation from biology faculty and professionals.
Your statement should be 500 to 1,000 words in length. Include your specific interest in Temple's program, as well as your research and future career goals and your previous academic and research achievements.
GRE scores are not required.
A current professional résumé is required.
For applicants whose native language is not English, the TOEFL, IELTS or PTE Academic exam is required. The minimum acceptable score for the TOEFL is 90 iBT or 575 PBT.
To be considered for a University Fellowship, applications must be complete and on file by January 5. Late applications may be considered for admission.
