Graduate Certificate in Adult Learning and Training
The Adult Learning and Training Certificate (Graduate) in the College of Education and Human Development at Temple University is designed for students who wish to build and broaden their knowledge and skills to analyze, design, develop, implement and evaluate learning, training and development programs for adult learners in a range of learning environments. This nine-credit graduate program is ideal for early- and mid-career professionals including educators, trainers, consultants, program and instructional developers, and facilitators.
The three-course certificate can be completed within 12 months. Coursework draws from social science theory and research to develop students' diagnostic, analytical, and instructional design and delivery skills. Classroom instruction and assignments draw heavily on students’ professional experience and are aimed at developing applied learning, training and development strategies that are applicable in various settings. Classes are scheduled in the evening and delivered online.
Graduates typically pursue careers in public and private sectors, as well as nonprofit, community-based and for-profit settings that specialize in training/organizational development, adult education centers and independent practice.
