The City of Philadelphia has announced that it will be under a snow emergency beginning at 9 p.m. Saturday, as the National Weather Service predicts the region could see snow accumulation of 8 to 18 inches.
Ahead of the impending storm, the university is actively preparing for potential travel disruptions, freezing temperatures and service impacts. Public Safety, Facilities and Operations, and essential student support functions will be staffed at normal capacity throughout the storm. All on-campus residence halls have been adequately stocked with food and supplies, and Johnson and Hardwick’s Louis J. Esposito Dining Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday.
Given the uncertainty of the storm’s impact, we encourage all members of our community to plan accordingly. Charge electronic devices, gather warm clothing and blankets, ensure you have any needed prescription medications, and keep ready-to-eat food items and bottled water on hand in case dining hours or local services are affected.
