Contact the faculty member in your area of interest prior to submitting an application. See a list of core Earth and Environmental Science Department faculty.
Your transcript should show geology courses to prepare you for advanced level graduate classes and instructing undergraduates. You should also have at least one year of college-level chemistry, calculus and either physics or biology.
Submit official transcripts from every college and university you have attended.
Submit three letters from college or university faculty who can speak to your academic competence and research abilities.
Submit a sample of your academic writing. The sample can be an undergraduate thesis or research paper, a master’s thesis or a published journal article in which you are listed as first author.
Discuss your interest in the program and, in particular, the faculty member with whom you would like to work. Also, describe your current academic and professional achievements as well as your research and future career goals.
For applicants whose native language is not English, the TOEFL is required. The minimum score for the TOEFL is 85 iBT or 620 PBT.

For full consideration, applications must be submitted by the deadline. Late applications may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Applicants should target Fall entry as Spring admission is rare.
