Internships & Opportunities

As part of the Center for Student Professional Development’s efforts to prepare students for the working world, guidance for identifying, procuring and preparing for internship opportunities is offered to all interested Fox School of Business students. The timeline for finding and securing an internship varies from student to student, but it is strongly recommended that all Fox students explore the many internship opportunities posted on Handshake, a career management platform. There is a wide variety of opportunities available with employers from varied industries.

Careers

Finance majors follow a wide variety of career paths. Future professional roles may include

  • bank analyst, reviewing and overseeing loans to businesses and individuals, as well as relationship manager, dealing directly with bank customers;
  • financial analyst in a corporation dealing with activities such as merger and acquisitions, initial public offerings, capital budgeting proposals, and treasury operations;
  • program analyst with federal, state and local governments or nonprofit organizations, efficiently raising and deploying capital across a broad spectrum of projects, providing pension fund support, working with financial advisors on security issuance, and supporting day-to-day cash management; and
  • wealth and investment manager, helping large organizations and individuals effectively allocate their capital into appropriate investment vehicles.
