Research Centers

The Center for Professional Development in Career & Technical Education (CTE) offers career-long services to CTE professionals throughout the 17 counties that comprise eastern Pennsylvania. Its mission is to facilitate the professional development of all educators who work with career-bound students.

Research Quality and Funding

In 2016, the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education listed Temple University as an R1 institution for “highest research activity,” placing it among the top 4 percent of all four-year institutions in the U.S.

In the same year, the National Science Foundation placed Temple among the top 100 in terms of research expenditures, which amounted to $242 million. Learn more about the university’s research support efforts.

The College of Education’s externally funded research expenditure was $13.8 million in fiscal year 2017.

Facilities

The College of Education is primarily located in Ritter Hall, Ritter Hall Annex and Weiss Hall on Temple’s Main Campus. The campus’ North Philadelphia location is suited to provide opportunities for students to engage with area schools, communities, government agencies, and for-profit and nonprofit organizations.
