How to Apply

To apply, submit an application along with a fee of $60 to the College of Education.

After submitting the application, you will receive instructions on how to submit the additional application materials listed below through your online MyTU account. If you prefer, you may also mail these materials to

You will receive your nine-digit Temple University identification number (TUid) via email once you submit your application for admission. Supporting Materials

  1. Transcripts: Submit official undergraduate and graduate transcripts from all accredited institutions you have attended and/or from which you earned credit. Official transcripts can be emailed to educate@temple.edu or sent to the Office of Enrollment Management address listed above.
  2. Statement of Goals: Write a 500- to 1,000-word statement of purpose outlining your interest in seeking a master's degree with a specific focus on the career to which you aspire, your interests, and your academic and job-related experiences that are relevant to the program.  
  3. Recommendations: Submit two letters of reference that provide insight into your academic competence. References from college or university faculty members are recommended. You may request recommendations through your MyTU account or send them using the paper Reference Report for Graduate Study (pdf) to the above mailing address.
  4. Résumé: A current professional résumé is required.

International Applicant Requirements

In addition to the standard application requirements, international applicants need to submit the following credentials.

  • Official document that validates completion and conferral of a degree, diploma and/or certificate. Though not required, applicants are encouraged to submit transcript(s) to the World Education Services for evaluation.
  • Official TOEFL or IELTS exam scores if you are a non-native English speaker. A minimum score of 95 TOEFL iBT or 7.0 on IELTS is required for admission.

Application Deadlines

Submit all required admissions documents by the following deadlines to receive priority consideration for admission and financial support.

  • Fall: March 1
  • Spring: Nov. 1

Applications are still being considered for admission for the fall 2018 semester. However, applicants are ineligible for College of Education financial support as the priority application deadline has passed. Applicants may complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)  to be considered for other financial support opportunities.
