How to Apply

To apply, submit Temple's online graduate application along with an application fee of $60.

College of Science and Technology graduate candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale to apply. Most applicants have an undergraduate degree in one of the natural sciences, Computer Science or Mathematics. Students from other fields will need to take prerequisite courses.


You must have an undergraduate degree in Chemistry or a closely related field is required. Candidates not holding a degree in Chemistry should contact the program director for guidance. A master's degree is not required, but you must hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.

Additional Requirements for International Students

For students whose undergraduate education was not in English, either the TOEFL or IELTS is required. The minimum score for the TOEFL is 85 iBT or 575 PBT.

Application Deadlines

  • Fall: June 15; Feb. 15 international
  • Spring: Sept. 15

Applications are processed on a continual basis. Ordinarily, the applicant is informed of an admissions decision within three weeks of receipt of all supporting application documents. Late applications may be considered for admission.
