Workforce Development

Temple University offers several programs to help community members plan for their future.

Community Outreach and Hiring

Temple’s Community Outreach and Hiring initiative helps community residents find employment opportunities through career-related events like job training workshops and the annual job fair. You can explore job openings at Temple and find job training and career readiness programs through the Lenfest North Philadelphia Workforce Initiative.

Lenfest Center for Community Workforce Partnerships

The Lenfest Center for Community Workforce Partnerships at Temple is under the vice president’s Office for Community Impact and Civic Engagement.

Our Mission

The Lenfest Center for Community Workforce Partnerships engages communities and social service agencies throughout the Commonwealth to address issues that impact health and well-being of individuals and communities.

This mission is accomplished through teaching, research and service activities that

  • advance the knowledge and resources of individuals and communities;
  • create innovative health and social services that promote health and wellbeing in the individual and the community; and
  • ensure a comprehensive and diverse health and human service workforce.

Monthly Employment Readiness Workshops

Every month, Temple offers free employment readiness workshops. These sessions provide local residents seeking employment with information and resources to help them gain a competitive edge in the job market. Topics include interviewing skills, office etiquette and more.

Contact the program for information about the workshops.
