Business Minor

Many Temple University undergraduates are currently taking selected business courses to better prepare themselves for their careers after graduation. The Fox School of Business and Management offers an eight course (24 s.h.) business minor to allow students in other schools and colleges of the University a chance to better prepare themselves for work in a profit or non-profit organization. This minor will also facilitate the transition into an MBA program for undergraduate non-business majors. After the student completes the requirements, the minor will be recorded on the student's official University transcript upon graduation.

Academic Requirements for Business Minor

Students pursuing a business minor must meet the following requirements:
· A C- in each course
· A 2.3 overall GPA for courses in the business minor
· A minimum of five of the eight required business minor courses must be completed at Temple.

(Note: The University is reviewing all school and college, major, and GPA requirements above 2.0.  Please refer to the electronic Bulletin for up-to-date information.)

Declaration of Business Minor

Students who are interested in pursuing a business minor should speak to their adviser in the school or college in which they are pursuing their degree. Students should contact the Fox School of Business advising office to formally declare the business minor.

Minors in Specific Business Disciplines

The Fox School of Business and Management also offers opportunities for students to select minors in addition to the majors. The following minors are available:
· Accounting
· Economics
· E-Marketing
· Entrepreneurship
· Healthcare Management
· Healthcare Risk Management
· Management Information Systems
· Statistics (for Honors students only)

Please contact the FSBM Advising Office for more information on the minors or check the website at http://www.sbm.temple.edu/advising/. Students in other schools and colleges may be allowed to take minors in the Fox School of Business and Management, if they have completed the business minor. The Healthcare Management minor does not require the business minor as a prerequisite. Students in the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management are approved to take the Management Information Systems minor without the Business minor. All other students should contact the MIS Department directly at 215-204-3054 to determine if the business minor is required.
