From Whom: Letters of recommendation should be obtained from former and current professors who can provide insight into the applicant's abilities and talents and can comment on the applicant’s aptitude for graduate study. If already working in the field, the applicant may include letters from professional colleagues.
Coursework Required for Admission Consideration:
All applicants must present credentials that are the equivalent of the appropriate baccalaureate degree at Temple University.
Bachelor's Degree in Discipline/Related Discipline:
Typically, the applicant must have a baccalaureate degree and initial teacher certification
in a science-related field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Space Science, General Science, Physics).
Statement of Goals:
The Statement of Goals should be approximately 500-1,000 words in length and should indicate your goals and objectives for obtaining a master’s degree in Science Education. The statement should also include the following elements: your specific interest in Temple’s program; your research goals; your future career goals; and your academic and research achievements.
Standardized Test Scores:
The GRE/MAT is required. It is expected that the scores will generally be at or above the 50th percentile.
Minimum TOEFL score needed to be accepted: 550 paper-based, 213 computer-based, or 79 internet-based.

About the Program
The M.S.Ed. with a concentration in Science Education is viewed as a master teacher program providing advanced study for science educators who already hold initial teacher certification in a science-related field such as Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Space Science, General Science, or Physics.
