The New Media Interdisciplinary Concentration in the School of Communications
and Theater explores the expressive and communicative possibilities
presented by digital media across the contexts of the established disciplines
of advertising, broadcast, film, journalism, mass communication, public
relations and theater. NMIC seeks to facilitate students in both the
development of a comprehensive understanding of the communication arts,
and an experiential exploration of the evolution of media traditions
through new technologies.
The New Media Interdisciplinary Concentration is open to all SCAT students.
The goal of the curriculum is to provide an interdisciplinary approach
to new media, exploring the interpenetrating ideas and collaborative
opportunities that are emerging as new technologies evolve.
