PROGRAM INFORMATION

Teach a Second-Foreign Language, MSinED

The Master of Science in Education in Teaching a Second and Foreign Language Degree program is intended to prepare students from a variety of backgrounds and career interests to become academicians & practioners in Language Education and TESOL (Teaching English to Students of Other Languages.) Some of our candidates are interested in teaching positions not requiring state certification in such locales as overseas, business settings, community agencies, college and university English language institutes and parochial schools. Others are interested in teaching in a public school system in Pennsylvania. Still others are from other countries and wish to teach English in their native country.

Main Campus, Japan


Students are able to complete the degree program through classes offered after 4:30 p.m. Students able to complete the degree program on a part-time basis (8 credit hours or less per semester).

The program has a strong interdisciplinary focus. Students are encouraged to take courses in the social-behavioral sciences throughout the University. In addition, the program concentrates on applications in a wide variety of educational settings: formal and informal; public and private; schools, businesses and industries.

Students may take graduate courses at Temple's Tokyo, Japan Campus.
