Woman's Studies
Woman's Studies examines the social, historical and cultural
roots of gender inequality and gender identity, while emphasizing the ways in which race,
ethnicity, class, and sexuality intersect with the definitions of gender, and exploring
questions of feminist pedagogy. The certificate program is designed to ensure
interdisciplinary study through requiring graduate courses in at least two programs
or departments. If the certificate is to be obtained in conjunction with a Master's
or Doctoral degree, students already admitted to a cooperating Temple University graduate
program will be accepted to the Woman's Study Certificate Program on the basis of an
application and submission of transcripts.
