Urban Education
The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies
offers a Master of Education and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Educational
Administration. Degree candidates majoring in this area pursue programs tailored to
their interests designed in consultation with their advisers. The focus is on
research and policy specialization in urban education.
The masters program requires a minimum of 30 semester hours
of course work and the successful completion of a written comprehensive examination.
The doctoral program requires 72 credits, a written comprehensive examination,
completion of a dissertation, and a final oral examination. Courses are offered in
the evening on the Main Campus and at off-campus centers.
