Sport and Recreation Administration

The Master of Education in Sport and Recreation Administration prepares students for careers in athletic administration, sport promotion and marketing, arena and stadium management, and recreation or leisure services management.  The program includes a strong core of industry-specific courses involving administration, legal issues, marketing and research.

The Program in Sport and Recreation Administration requires either 30 semester-hours (thesis); 33 semester-hours (project); 36 semester-hours (comprehensive exam); or 39 semester-hours (practicum).  The program includes electives within the School, along with requiring outside electives from the Fox School of Business and Management.  All students complete an internship.  Students attending full-time generally complete the degree in one calendar year or three semesters, and students attending part-time generally complete the degree in two calendar years.  The program is offered on the Main Campus only.

The M.Ed. degree in Sport and Recreation Administration is approved by the North American Society for Sport Management.
