School Psychology
The Department of Psychological Studies in Education offers a
Master of Education and Doctor of Philosophy degree in School Psychology. The
program is designed to prepare psychologists who are grounded in sound clinical and
educational practice. School psychologists work and do research with children in
areas of diagnosis, treatment, and remediation, and with parents and teachers on issues
facing specific students, such as teaching and learning.
The Master of Education requires a minimum 30 semester hours
and a written comprehensive examination (42 additional credits required for certification).
The Doctor of Philosophy degree requires a minimum 90 semester hours; residency;
preliminary examination; internship; dissertation; and final oral examination. All
courses are offered at Temple University's Main Campus.
