Finite Element Methods
Finite element methods have been very
powerful and versatile in the analysis and design of various engineering problems.
In this program, theory and applications of FEM in various fields, such as biomaterials,
dynamics, fluid flow, heat transfer, and structures, will be introduced. Several
commercial FEM/CAD/CAM packages will be introduced and used in this program.
The Certificate Program requires the
successful completion of the 9 semester hours of coursework. Credits earned in
certificate programs may be applied towards the completion of a master's degree in the
College of Engineering.
In order to make the Certificate programs
available to practicing engineers, classes are scheduled in the evening, during the
regular Fall and Spring semesters.
