Educational Administration
The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies
offers a Master of Education and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Educational
Administration. The Master of Education program is viewed as the first step to
formally preparing for an administrative career. The doctoral program in Educational
Administration has two parallel concentrations: administration for specialists in line
administrative positions in basic education and the administrative of higher education.
The masters program requires a minimum of 30 semester hours
of course work and the successful completion of a written comprehensive examination.
The doctoral program requires 72 credits, a written comprehensive examination,
completion of a dissertation, and a final oral examination. Courses are offered in
the evening on the Main Campus and at off-campus centers.
