Digital VLSI Design
The College of Engineering recognizes the importance of
life-long learning and continuing graduate education to practicing engineers. The
Professional Certificate in Digital VLSI Design considers the device parameters and
fabrication of MOS integrated circuits for high-speed digital data computation and
communication. Applications areas include system-chip design methodologies using
reusable intellectual property, migration of existing integrated circuit designs to new
fabrication processes, minimization of propagation delay in high-speed digital circuits,
and thermal dissipation.
The Certificate Program requires the successful completion of
three graduate level courses (9 semester hours). Credits earned in certificate
programs may be applied towards the completion of a master's degree in the College of
Engineering.
In order to make the Certificate programs available to
practicing engineers, classes are scheduled in the evening, during the regular Fall and
spring semesters at the Fort Washington campus.
