Digital Data Communication
The College of Engineering recognizes the importance of
life-long learning and continuing graduate education to practicing engineers. The
Professional Certificate in Digital Data Communications concentrates on the transfer of
digital information using computer networks, modulation, and signal processing.
Application areas include telecommunications, cellular and personal communication
services. The courses extensively use computer modeling and analysis of
communications systems (SystemView by Elanix) and digital signals (Matlab by MathWorks).
The Certificate Program requires the successful completion of
three graduate level courses (9 semester hours). Credits earned in certificate
programs may be applied towards the completion of a Master's degree in the College of
Engineering.
In order to make the Certificate programs available to
practicing engineers, classes are scheduled in the evening, during the regular Fall
and Spring semesters at the Fort Washington campus of Temple University.
