Broadcasting, Telecommunications and Mass Media
The School of Communications and Theater offers the Master of
Arts degree in Broadcasting, Telecommunications and Mass Media. This degree serves
students seeking employment advancement in mass media or telecommunications industries as
well as those preparing for a doctoral program in communications or a related
discipline. The program offers concentrations in institutions, management and
organizations, and social processes. Coursework choices are focused according
to the student's interests.
The M.A. in Broadcasting, Telecommunications and Mass Media
consists of 40 semester-hours and comprehensive examinations covering various aspects of
the field. The program is ordinarily taken as a full-time degree over a period of
two academic years; part-time enrollment is also permitted. Up to 8 credits of
graduate coursework may be transferred into the Master's program. This program is
offered on Main Campus; several courses are offered on-line.
