Applied Communication:
Conflict Processes, Language, and Social Interaction
The Department of Communication Sciences offers a Master of
Arts degree in Applied Communication. The program offers students advanced study of
human communication in personal and professional contexts. The M.A. degree is
designed to prepare students for employment in organizational consulting, mediation and
human resources management.
The Master's degree requires a minimum of 36 semester-hours
of course work and practicum or internship. Most students complete the program in
two years of full-time study, however students enroll part-time for some or all of their
degree programs. Most courses are offered on the Main Campus, although some courses
are occasionally offered at the Center City Campus, and internship and practicum
experiences may occur anywhere in the Delaware Valley.
