Effective the week of October 17th the following will occur in the surrounding area of the New Residence Project.

Two important things will happen:

1. The sidewalk on the east side of Broad St., from C.B. Moore Av. to Oxford will be closed to pedestrian.  This includes closing the Septa subway entrance on the SE corner of Broad and C. B. Moore for all general use as the entrance will become enclosed within the New Residence Hall project site fence.  The Septa enclosure will be modified to include exit hardware to allow a person to exit the station in the event of an emergency, but this will not be for general use or convenience.  Additionally, Septa will be moving the bus shelter and bus stop on the SE corner of Broad and C.B. Moore to the northeast corner to allow continued use.

2. The sidewalk along Park Avenue from Cecil B. Moore to Oxford will also be closed to allow for the setup of an office trailer complex within the alcove on the West side of the 1300 Residence Hall.  This work will also begin on October 17th and should be complete by the end of the week. The sidewalk will be closed as of October 17th, so foot traffic and pedestrians will NOT be able to walk along Park Avenue from Cecil B. Moore to Oxford.

In both cases above, signage will be installed to clearly direct pedestrians. The students living in 1300 dorms will be getting extensive warnings, information, and fire drills to prepare for the change.
