Temple Summer Academy

July 9 - July 27, 2018

 

Temple Summer Academy invites students entering grades 11th -12th to experience the academics, energy, and culture of Temple University through this rigorous three week summer program. Temple Summer Academy includes 3 college credits as well as non-credit enrichment classes in leadership, language, or visual arts.

 

Earn a Temple Scholarship

Students that complete the Temple Summer Academy college course successfully and later enroll at Temple as a first-time, full-time freshman, will receive a $4,000 tuition grant ($1,000 per year for four years), as long as a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 is maintained, as well as continuous full-time status.

 

Summer Owls Leadership Experience (SOLE)

The Summer Owl Leadership Experience (SOLE) allows students the opportunity to develop and expand their leadership skills. Students participate  in dynamic leadership workshops, a ropes course, and  visiting successful professional enterprises to get insights from industry leaders. 

Credit Course: Youth Cultures. This course addresses questions associated with coming of age in the United States and across the globe. 

 

Visual Studies Academy

An introduction to the concepts and techniques of art making, Visual Studies Academy,  allows students to create pieces of work that mainly make use of the visual environment, while trying to convey messages of emotion, ideas or information.  

Credit Course: Youth Cultures. This course addresses questions associated with coming of age in the United States and across the globe.

 

Summer Language Academy

As the world becomes even more connected, speaking another language is more important than ever. Participants in Summer Language Academy attend Arabic, Italian, or Mandarin classes where they learn vocabulary, grammar, conversation, and culture.

Credit Course: Language and Society.  This course explores topics such as how language came about or how people co-exist in countries where there are two or more languages.
