Temple University offers Graduate Assistants and Teaching Assistants the opportunity to purchase student health insurance at reduced group rates.

Returning Students:

If you were enrolled in one of the University sponsored plans during the 2018 to 2019 academic year your insurance will automatically end August 31, 2019. You MUST enroll each academic year during the open enrollment period in order to continue your insurance. 


Semester Open Enrollment Period Coverage Effective Coverage Period Monthly Premium (Bill) Due
Fall August - September September 1, 2019 12 months 1st of the Month
Spring January - February January 1, 2019 8 Months 1st of the Month

Graduate and Teaching Assistance eligible for a health insurance subsidy
If you were awarded a Graduate Assistantship and are eligible for a health insurance subsidy, the subsidy amount will be applied to your premium during the enrollment process. (It will appear as SUBSIDY APPLIED next to the cost of your selected plan).
If the subsidy is not applied, please contact the Graduate School to confirm all relevant processes were completed.
Once confirmed you can complete your health insurance application.

Blue Cross Monthly Premiums:

Monthly bills will be issued to you and mailed to the address you provided during the enrollment process.  You are responsible for paying the monthly premium directly to Blue Cross
