I-9 Completion (HireRight)
 

Temple University uses HireRight.com to obtain required documentation to verify employee eligibility to work in the United States as defined by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), also known as Form I-9. New or returning employees will receive an email from HireRight.com (at the email address provided during the application process) with detailed instructions for completing this form. This information must be completed prior to the first day of employment.

I-9 Completion Steps

Prior to an employee’s start date, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) requires employees to complete the following steps in full:

1.

New or returning employees will receive an email from HireRight Customer Support with a link and temporary password for the HireRight.com online Form I-9. The email subject line is “Temple University Employment Eligibility (I-9) Form.

2.

Using the Login information provided in the email, employees must fill out “Section 1: Employee Information and Attestation.

3.

Once employees complete Section 1 on HireRight.com, they are required to present certifying documentation in person with HR within 3 days of their start date. These documents certify the employee’s eligibility to work in the US. Employees can find a list of acceptable documents here:

Employees must present documents with HR Employment at any of these locations, where HR will finalize the I-9 certification process:

HR Employment will provide the employee with a certificate of I-9 completion, which the employee can present to the hiring department as verification of their eligibility to begin work.
