Therapeutic Recreation, EDM

Deadline
Fall: July 31

Spring: November 30

Application Type:
Rolling (applications are processed throughout the year with no deadline).

Letters of reference
Number Required:3

From whom:
At least two from college/university faculty members familiar with academic competence; one may be from a practitioner who can address work-related competence.

Statement of Goals:
The Statement of Goals should be approximately 500-1000 words and should, at minimum, include the following elements: why your background and interests make you suitable for a career in therapeutic recreation, your future career goals, and your academic and research achievements.

Standardized Test Scores:
The GRE/MAT is required. While there is no absolute minimum score, the department likes to see scores in the 50th percentile or higher on the GRE Verbal and Quantitative Sections. On the MAT the department likes to see a score above the 50th percentile. A combination of UGPA and test scores are used to determine admissability.

Minimum TOEFL score or range of scores needed to be accepted:
620 on the paper-based test or 260 on the computer-based test.

Resume:
A resume is required.

Transfer Credit
Graduate credits from an accredited institution may be transferred into the Therapeutic Recreation Program. The credits must be equivalent to coursework offered at Temple and be approved by the students academic advisor. The grade must be a "B"or better in order to transfer.
