Program Requirements

Adult and Organizational Development, EDM

(Concentration: Adult Learning and Training)

Campus Location:
Main Campus, Harrisburg

A few courses are offered at the Fort Washington and Center City campuses.

Full-time/Part-time Status
Students are able to complete the degree program through classes offered after 4:30 p.m.

General Program Requirements:

Number of Didactic credits required beyond the Baccalaureate:

Required Courses:
AOD 501, 502, 503, 540

Students must take at least three courses in one of the concentration areas (adult learning and training or orginizational and team development) and at least one course in the other concentration area. In addition, four electives are required.

Culminating Exam

  • Comprehensive Exam Description - The master’s comprehensive is intended to allow the student to demonstrate a breadth and depth of knowledge in the AOD courses of his/her program.
  • Comprehensive Exam Subject - Students are given possible questions upon matriculation to the program. The exam is a 24 hour take home test.
  • Comprehensive Exam Complete - Upon completion of coursework
  • Comprehensive Exam Write - All faculty members write and grade the comprehensive.
  • Comprehensive Exam Grade - Faculty members separately grade each comprehensive exam using a scale of High Pass, Pass, and Fail. All tests are graded anonymously.
  • Comprehensive Exam Pass - The scores from all faculty members are aggregated. Students receive the modal score. If there is a wide variation among the scores, the faculty will discuss the performance. All pass/fail decisions are made anonymously.
  • Comprehensive Exam Schedule - The comprehensive exam is given twice each year: in November and April. The exam is administered online. The specific date for the exam will be provided to the students when they apply to take the exam.
