Culminating Exam Comprehensive Exam Description - The master’s comprehensive is intended to allow the student to demonstrate a breadth and depth of knowledge in the core areas of educational Psychology. The content of the exam is primarily focused on the six core courses in the program: Ed 525, Ed Psych 529, 531, 541, 625 and 627Comprehensive Exam Subject - Students are given five articles six weeks prior to the exam. Two of these articles are chosen for inclusion in the comprehensive. Students are asked questions focusing on theory, methodology, and application.Comprehensive Exam Complete - At the end of the coursework.Comprehensive Exam Write - All faculty members write and grade the comprehensive.Comprehensive Exam Grade - Faculty members separately grade each comprehensive using a scale of High Pass, Pass, Low Pass and Fail. All tests are graded anonymously.Comprehensive Exam Pass - The scores from all faculty members are aggregated. Students receive the modal score. If there is a wide variation among the scores, the faculty will discuss the performance. All pass/fail decisions are made anonymously.Comprehensive Exam Schedule - The comprehensive exam is given twice each year, in November and April. The exam is administered on a Saturday. The specific date for the exam will be provided to the students when they apply to take the exam.
