(Concentration: Therapeutic Recreation)

Fall: January 15

Application Type:
Because applications are accepted once per year, they are processed and evaluated following the application deadline.

Letters of reference
Number Required:3

From whom:
Academic faculty are preferred for letters of recommendation, followed by professional supervisors.

Statement of Goals:
The Statement of Goals (500-1000 words) should specify your current research interests and how you see these interests linking to your long-term career goals. How will Temple's Therapeutic Recreation track of study help you meet these goals?

Standardized Test Scores:
The GRE is required. The GRE scores are but one of several application elements considered for admission. As such, high scores do not guarantee admission. In general, scores of 500 on the Verbal portion and 500 on the Quantitative section of the exam are considered minimum.

Minimum TOEFL score or range of scores needed to be accepted:
620 on the paper-based test or 260 on the computer-based test.

Resume:
A resume is required.

Writing Sample:
Scholarly papers are preferred for the writing sample, not more than 10 pages.

    Advanced Standing
    Upon admission, students apply to the Ph.D. Program Director for approval of advanced standing credits. Only relevant graduate coursework from accredited institutions will be approved. Credits for Master's theses, fieldwork, and directed projects/readings are not permitted.
