Admission Requirements and Deadlines

Communication Sciences, PHD
(Concentration: Applied Communication/Conflict Processes)

Deadline
Fall: March 1

Spring: November 1

Application Type:
Rolling (applications are processed throughout the year with no deadline).

Letters of reference
Number Required:3

From whom:
Letters of recommendation should come from teachers, employers, or colleagues able to evaluate the applicant's strengths and weaknesses.

Statement of Goals:
Statement should be roughly 500-1000 words in length, and should address applicant's background, academic and professional goals, and the fit of the applicant's interests with the program.

Standardized Test Scores:
The GRE/MAT/GMAT is required. combined Verbal and Quantitative of 1150 in GRE; equivalent percentile ranking in MAT or GMAT

Minimum TOEFL score or range of scores needed to be accepted:
575 on the paper-based test or 230 on the computer-based test. Applicants who score below 600 on the paper-based test or 250 on the computer-based test will be required to take and pass a remedial English course during their first semester at Temple University.

Resume:
A resume is required.

Writing Sample:
chapters of a thesis, convention papers and/or papers from senior undergraduate or master's level coursework
