Fall: July 1 Spring: November 15 Application Type: Rolling (applications are processed throughout the year with no deadline).
Letters of reference Number Required:3From whom: Letters of recommendations should be sought from the faculty of the applicant's undergraduate institution who are familiar with the applicant's academic background. Applicants employed in an engineering profession may request a letter of recommendation from their immediate supervisor.
Statement
of Goals:
The statement of goals should be approximately one to two pages and should include the applicant's long term plans for study, research, and professional career. The statement of goals should also highlight the applicant's academic achievements and professional experience.
Standardized
Test Scores:
The GRE is required. Typical GRE score of students accepted to the program is 500 verbal, 650 quantitative, and 550 analytical.Minimum TOEFL score or range of scores needed to be accepted: 575 on the paper-based test or 230 on the computer-based test. Applicants who score below 600 on the paper-based test or 250 on the computer-based test will be required to take and pass a remedial English course during their first semester at Temple University.

Transfer Credit
Graduate credits up to a maximum of 6 s.h. taken at an accredited institution may be transferred into the MSE degree requirements. In order to transfer, the courses must be equivalent to courses offered at Temple in the student's area of study and research, and grades must be B or better. The admissions committee makes recommendations for the transfer credit.

Test Waivers:
Applicants with two or more years of experience as an engineer
working in research and development in an established engineering
company may request a waiver of the GRE.
