Admission Requirements and Deadlines

Electrical Engineering, MSE
(Concentration: Thesis Track)

Deadline
Fall: July 1

Spring: November 15

Application Type:
The admission process is rolling up through the deadline.

Letters of reference
Number Required:3

From whom:
Letter of recommendation should come from college/University faculty members familiar with the academic background of the applicant. An applicants employed in an engineering profession may request a reference letter from his immediate supervisor.

Statement of Goals:
The Statement of Goals should be approximately one to two pages and should include the applicant's research goals, future career goals, and interest in Temple's program. The Statement of Goals should also highlight the applicant's academic and research achievements and professional experience.

Standardized Test Scores:
The GRE is required. Typical GRE score is 500 verbal, 650 quantitative, and 550 analytical.

Minimum TOEFL score or range of scores needed to be accepted:
575 (or 230 on computer based test). Students with TOEFL scores lower than 600 are required to take an intensive English course during their first semester at Temple.

Resume:
A resume is required.

    Transfer Credit
    Graduate credits up to a maximum of 6 s.h. from an accredited institution may be transferred into the MSE program. In order to transfer, the courses must be equivalent to the courses offered at Temple in the student's area of study and research and the grade must be B or better. The admissions committee makes recommendations for the transfer credit. The maximum number of credits a student may transfer is 6


    Test Waivers:
    Applicants with two or more years of employment in an engineering profession performing engineering design and analysis may request a waiver for the GRE.
